Tag Templates 7 & 8

Good Morning! How are you today? Hope you are doing fine.

Dad has had several episodes where he can't breathe since Tuesday. I know that one of the things that by-pass patients have a problem with is shortness of breath, and it is made worse when you have lung problems like my dad.....COPD, chronic bronchitis, and asbestosis. So I expected him to be short of breath, but yesterday, he had a really bad episode that prompted them to do a CT scan of his lungs. The CT scan showed that both of his lungs are partially collapsed! So they are taking care of his lungs and trying to slowly re inflate his lungs. He may get to go home either Saturday or Sunday. But I'm not going to hold my breath. He was supposed to come home Wednesday, but the breathing episodes have pushed his go home date to either Saturday or Sunday.

Today I have two more templates for you to use for tags. Here is what I did with them.

Here are the 4Shared links for them. If you have any problems with the links, please leave me a note in the comments and I'll fix them.

Have a GREAT weekend!
Enjoy!

June Calendars

Good Morning! Hope you are doing well!

My dad is doing well after his by-pass surgery, and the doctors are thinking that either Thursday or Friday he will get to go home. Both of them will be extremely happy when that happens!! Dad will have to have someone besides mom at the house to keep an eye on his well being. It's not that my 75 year old mom can't do it by herself, it's because she doesn't get around really well herself. My 4 younger siblings live an hour or more from our parent's house, and all of them have full time jobs, so I have the great honor of helping out at their house for a couple of weeks or so to keep an eye on them and walk their dog. Their poor dog has been boarded at the vet for the last week, and he'll be coming home Saturday. He will be a happy dog! I think that my dad and the dog miss each other a lot!

Today I have three June calendars for you. I didn't put them in a .rar file so you can just right click and save as whichever one(s) you wish to save. They are in .png format so you can add them to your own creations. Here are the calendars you can choose from.

Have an AWESOME day!
Enjoy!

Masks 16 - 20

Good Morning! How are you today? Hope you are doing well.

My dad is doing really well after his triple by-pass on Friday. He's been up in a chair, walking the halls, teasing the nurses and other hospital staff, all of his tubes are out, all of the IV's are gone....yep, he's doing well! They think he may be coming home on Wednesday! Can't wait!

I'm not looking forward to all of the running I've got to do today. Since we only have 2 vehicles, and my daughter-in-law has been at work since 5 this morning, I've got everybody else to shuttle to where they need to be. I've got to leave in about 30 minutes to pick up my oldest son and take him to his doctor's appointment, take him back to work after his appointment, take my grandson to school, meet my two youngest sisters and one of my neice's for lunch, go to the hospital to visit dad, and go to Lowe's and figure out what I want to replace the front stairs and railing with....hmmm....do I want to replace them with treated wood or PVC? Plus, I have to measure the length of the stairs, the length of the existing railing, and the existing wood that make up the stairs so that I get the right width of whatever it is I'm going to replace them with. After that, I think I'm going to take a nap....sleep last night was not my dearest bosom buddy!

Today, I've got masks 16-20 for you today. Here's a tag I created with mask 19.

Here is the 4Shared link for this set of masks. If you have any problems with the link, please leave me a note in the comments and I'll fix it.

Update on my Dad

Good Evening! My dad got out of surgery about 5 PM, and we got to see him about 8:30. He had a triple by-pass and came through it well. The doctor was impressed by how good his heart muscles looked and how good the 36 inches of vein looked that they took from his left leg to do the by-passes with. The doctor was very happy with the results of the surgery and expects a good recovery.

It really doesn't matter how much you prepare yourself for seeing someone after any kind of surgery, it is still a shock, and quite upsetting. For me, it brought back memories of my youngest granddaughter that went back Home to her Creator. But I know that my dad is in the gentle hands of his Creator as well as the skilled hands of his surgeon and the nurses taking care of him. And I know that my sweet angel granddaughter was also presiding over things in surgery with her great grandpa, too. He adored her when she was here with us. And things will be as they will be. I have no control over what happens in my dad's life, but I do have control over what happens in my own. I can either let this take me into the pit of despair or rejoice that my dad is still with me. Yes, it was a blow that this happened to my dad, but, he caught the problem before it could have ended his life. And he really was not too far from having a heart attack, possibly one that could have ended his life. It really slams the lesson home again that life is very unpredictable. It takes things like this to remind us what is REALLY important to us. My family is VERY important to me. I've lived with my parents in my life for 56 years now. I know that at some point in the future, they will not be with me anymore, but I am going to cherish them for the rest of my life. They were my first teachers. They are the first loves of my life, and always will be. I learned very early in my life who was important in my life, and that is my family.....my parents, my younger siblings, my sons and my grandchildren. They are my motor that keeps me going in this life.

Please! Take time out of each day to spend some time with those you love, even if it is just calling them and talking to them on the phone. Tell them you love them everyday, even if you are upset with them, because you never know when they will be gone, and leave a huge hole in your life that can never be filled. If you have done something you need to say you are sorry for....say it! If you have things to mend with those you love, mend them. Don't leave things undone with the ones you love. Their passing will hurt a lot worse if you don't because there will be questions of "what would my life have been like if I would have just said I love you and I'm sorry", "would my life have been different if I hadn't been such an uncaring jerk", and others. If you aren't close to your family, please get close to them. Family really is forever.

May the Love and Peace of the Creator be with you and your family.
Blessed Be.

Good Morning! How are you today? Today's blog is going to be a bit short as I've got a bunch of stuff to do before 11.

This morning my dad goes into surgery for a heart by-pass. The lower heart artery is 85% blocked, the front artery is 99.9% blocked, and a couple more at the back of his heart are slightly blocked. His heart rate the last few days has mainly been over 100 beats a minute. More times than not, it was 130 to 180 beats per minute. Not a good thing! So, they are going to start prepping him for surgery at 11, and he will be in surgery about noon or a little after. The surgery is going to be about 2-3 hours long, maybe a little more. Depends on how things go. One HUGE plus in his favor is that he has not had a heart attack, so the heart muscle hasn't been damaged, a second HUGE plus is that his heart is pretty strong for an 80 year old. His heart has been struggling to keep going despite its plumbing being plugged up. I think his angels were trying to get the message across that something wasn't right, and he finally got the message Sunday. Good thing, too! If it would have remained undetected for a while longer, he would have had a heart attack. He's had a pretty good doctor taking care of him since he went into the hospital to have his stress tests done and the heart catheterization, and a pretty good doctor to do his by-pass today. Both have come very highly praised and recommended! Prayers will be very welcome today for the family, especially for my dad.

Today I have two cute templates for you to use for your tags or e-mail stationery. Here is what I made with them.

Mother's Day Calendar

Good Morning! It's Wednesday!

Life can throw some interesting things into the mix that you don't expect. Sunday, my dad, who's 80, checked his blood pressure at Walmart at the blood pressure machine that they have. He usually pays attention only to the blood pressure numbers, but Sunday, he noticed that his pulse was really erratic. I mean REALLY erratic! It was ranging from 40 to 140 in a very short time. He told mom, who told me and my younger brother who's an Emergency Medical Tech. Between the 3 of us, we actually convinced him to go to the doctor. He wouldn't go to the emergency room, but he would go to the doctor. So mom called the doctor Monday morning at 8:30 and my dad had an appointment 30 minutes later. Before my dad ever left the doctor's office, he had 2 appointments for stress tests, one for Tuesday (yesterday) and for today. Yep, the doctor was not goofing around!

Yesterday, my parents and I went to the hospital for his first day of stress tests. His heart rate would not stabilize for too long and the doctor decided to keep him, at least over night. So I went to their house, took their dog out for a walk, got the stuff mom gave me a list for packed up, and took it back to the hospital. They both were having dinner when I got back to the hospital, and one of his 2 nurses came in to give him some of his meds. One was to keep blood clots from forming, I think it's called Lomax. The other med he was given was Digoxin, which is for heart problems. Here's the definition of what it does from Wikipedia:  "Digoxin is widely used in the treatment of various heart conditions, namely atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter and sometimes heart failure that cannot be controlled by other medication."
Well, his dose of this med didn't do too much for bringing down his heart rate much. while the nurse was giving him his Digioxin, his heart rate was fluctuating . I left a few minutes later, and it was still over 120.

He has his second stress test this morning at 10:30. But something tells me, and has been telling me since I found out Sunday that his heart rate was all over the map, that he may be having a pace maker put in before the week is up. So could you say a prayer for my parents?? I'm concern and, yes, I'm very scared.

Today, is a pretty Mother's Day themed calendar for your desk top. I'm not going to put it on 4Shared, but you can click on it to make it larger, then right click and save as to your computer. It's 1024x768.

Have a GREAT day! Chat with you Friday!
Enjoy!

Masked Monday

Good Morning! Hope you had an awesome weekend!

It was rather wet and stormy in the area most of the weekend. We got some rain, but not as much as they did north of here! OMG! They got way too much rain!! There were 30 rail cars blown over Sunday by some pretty strong winds that were going through the area north of here in Toluca, IL, which is in Marshal County. That's in the county that has gotten just brutalized with rain and severe weather on and off since Thursday evening. If you want to read the little blurb about the train cars, here is the link:  http://www.cinewsnow.com/news/local/Train-derails-in-Marshall-County-150362555.html?vid=a

It is just amazing sometimes what the weather can do! It also reminds us that we don't have anything permanent here in this life, and sometimes it gets brought to our doorstep in the most destructive and violent ways. It reminds us of how fragile life is, how we need to really cherish those we love, and cherish every moment we are here, because it can all be snatched away from us at any time. Gives one cause for pause, to stop and think, what is REALLY IMPORTANT to me? Is it my life and my family? Or is it my possessions and my job? Personally, I care very much for my family. I lost my youngest granddaughter 11 years ago next month to a tumor on her brain stem when she was only 10 1/2 months old. It was very painful time in my life, and it still is. It left a huge hole in my heart that can never be filled. I have 2 sons, 2 older granddaughters (16 and 13 this year) and a younger grandson (9 this year), and they have their own huge places in my heart. The pain of loss lessens some as the years go by, but it never really totally goes away. She would have been 12 this year.

Over the weekend I decided that my blog is going to take a different path as far as sharing. I've decided to go with "themes" and just post 3 days a week. The decision wasn't made lightly to only post 3 days a week, but things I need to get done aren't quite getting accomplished the way I want. So Monday is going to be Masked Monday. Wednesday is going to be a surprise....it could be frames, it could be a kit, it could be a cluster of goodies, it could be just about anything. And Friday will be templates for either tags or full size pages.

So since this is Masked Monday.....here are masks 11-15 and a tag I made with one of them:

4Shared is working again, and here is the link for Masks 11-15. If you have any problems with the link, please leave me a note in the comments and I will fix it.
